Let me keep this simple. After a workout one of my favorite things to eat after a good stretch is some kind of mixture of fruit and yogurt. It’s not the first thought that comes to mind, but mixing strawberries with prickly pears was a kind of nice treat. The purple and red made me feel a little extra creative.
Lately I’ve been really enjoying creamy sheep’s milk yogurt, and experimenting with different kinds of homemade granola, including one with tahini that will be shared soon. One of my go-to granola recipes is a banana nut trail mix granola found right here on Garlic Girl.
- 1 cup sheep’s milk or Greek yogurt
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 1/2 cup rinsed, strawberries, chopped
- 1 prickly pear, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup granola
- 1 tablespoons flax seeds
- optional: 1 tablespoon currants
- honey or pure maple syrup to sweeten
Instructions
- In your favorite glass, jar or bowl, make layers with the fruit, yogurt and remaining ingredients.
- This can be made with your favorite berries and fruit. You can also add dried fruit and extra nuts. This is your creation, so be creative and enjoy!
