Get me out of the cold! Aren’t you just so ready for spring? I’m ready, but then again I’ve been ready for spring since about October.
I don’t know about you, but I feel so much better in the warmer months. I eat healthier, work out more, and spend way more time in the wonderful sunshine. I guess that’s what we all love about the spring and summer, but for me, being in warm weather is totally mandatory for feeling good! And I’m such a farmer’s market girl. One of my favorite things to do is ride my my green beach cruiser to local markets and fill its old-school bicycle basket with colorful, fresh fruits and veggies.
Last week I piled up on blood oranges and strawberries. One morning I woke up and wondered how that combination would taste in a creamy smoothie.
I was a little surprised how good it was. What surprised me was the lack of tartness which I really appreciated. Creamy smoothies, with a subtle sweetness are always more up my alley. Some of my favorite combinations don’t typically taste fruity. See what I mean by checking out some of my favorites:

This is great because I never really know what to do with blood oranges. The name just makes me think bad things about them but I know they are not bad. I might give this a try. I’m not a huge smoothie person but I love veggie juice. My favorite is mean green juice. So I might make this same concept but as a juice. My favorite color is teal, of course. I can’t escape it.
Paula -bell'alimento
I love mixed berry smoothies. Although honestly I’m not sure I’ve ever turned down any smoothie ; ) Currently loving green/blue hues.
